Creating a gallery wall: our advice and inspirations
Formats, layout, styles… all our advice for composing a wall with character, without clutter.

A gallery wall is not a collection placed at random. It is a score: axes, silences, colour echoes. Here is a simple method to compose yours.
Start on the floor
Lay the frames on the floor, against the wall. Step back. The eye then sees the imbalances that the hammer would make permanent. Align the centres, not necessarily the edges.
A family, not a catalogue
Keep one constraint: the same wood, or the same mat, or the same family of subjects (botanical, Riviera, atelier). Three posters from the same Studio Vallor collection already speak to one another.
The space between frames
Four to seven centimetres is enough. Too much air, the wall comes apart; too little, everything clumps. At eye level for the main row, lower for the small formats.
Pictures and table
Above a dining table, leave at least 20 cm between the tabletop (or the chair back) and the lowest frame. Conversation should not bump into the glass.
For the prints, favour 30 × 40, 50 × 70 and 70 × 100 cm formats. See the available posters and build a gallery that will hold through the seasons.
